Boston Tea Party is the first UK coffee shop chain to announce they will no longer sell coffee in plastic-lined disposable take-away cups, starting in June 2018. We expect others to follows suit, eventually.
If you don’t already own a reusable takeaway cup, you’re probably starting to feel the need. Most coffee shops now offer discounts for customers with reusable cups, or travel mugs, while Boston Tea Party has gone a step further. So, if you intend to keep buying takeaway coffee, you’ll want to bring a reusable cup with you. But, which one do you buy? The options are endless.
We’ve tested three of the newest reusable travel mugs. The table below summarises their relative performance against the qualities and features we feel are most important. Each of these cups are stylish, practical, easy to use and they maintain the flavour and heat of the coffee. Most important to us, they are all leakproof, and that can't be said of the vast array of other mugs on the market.
We like each of them so much that we’ve decided to sell them on our website. So, there's no excuse not to do your bit for single use plastic reduction by buying one of these cups now! Let us know your choice between the rCup, Frank Green SmartCup or Kinto Travel Tumbler and scroll down to see our personal favourites.
Simon's Choice - rCup, "I love the fact the rCup is made from disposable coffee cups, it's very practical too"
David's Choice - Kinto Travel Tumbler, "the heat retention in the Kinto is amazing and it's a Go Anywhere mug!"
Don't Overlook - Frank Green SmartCup, it's probably the most stylish and it takes up the least space in a small bag
